With my anniversary looming I was trying to think of something suitable to give to me husband, after nine years together all of the typical and expected gifts have been done. Plus this is the man who happily existed with three pairs of shoes (that was of course before he met me), the point is he is not materialistic.
I stumbled upon this image in my house & home magazine and I was off on a hunt for an antique Australian flag for my Australian husband.
I went to all of my favorite vintage and antique haunts and found nothing. Luckily good ol' eBay came through and I found a 1940' small navy merchant flag in Australia. For about $10.00 CDN I thought this was a steal!
I elected to frame my flag in a modern white on white shadow box frame. It keeps things fresh and modern while showing off the patina of this beautiful flag. Framing ran me about $200.00, well worth it for a professional job.
What do you think?
