I have been M.I.A from the blogosphere for a month! I'm embarrassed how long I have been absent but I have a very good reason... I have had something in the works and I couldn't share what has been taking up every waking moment of my time until now.
The BIG news is... Plum Home + Design has found a home and I will opening offices and a retail store next month! After a long, long search of many spaces I have finally found the right place. Not too big not too small, just right. The store is located in the historic Westmount neighbourhood on 12407 108 ave in Edmonton. If you are from Edmonton you know that this is a vibrant interesting area, we are a hop skip and a jump from the The Duchess Bakery and the restaurant Tiramisu.
This is where you can find us
Over the past two years I have travelled to England, France and across North American collecting beautiful one of a kind pieces. I have always believed that a space is not complete without a little piece of history. Finding these pieces has been an experience, from muddy farmers fields to the largest antique fair in England I have looked high and low for the best and the brightest.
To compliment these finds I have searched out small independent companies from across North America who make beautiful, unique and high quality products. I'm excited to say that we are carrying such lovely things as Adrianne Duckworth's beautiful paintings made exclusively for us. Soaps made by Amarais, beautiful porcelain bowls from Fleet Objects, all proudly Canadian!
I have been working hard renovating for a few weeks now and the space is taking shape. There was a lot of work to do, with cinder block walls, panelling, awful cheap flooring and the worst dropped ceiling I have ever seen it has been an uphill battle. Slowly but surely the beauty is starting to appear.
In a few short weeks our doors will be open, followed soon after by our online store. Which means you can buy from the comfort of your home and pick up in our store. We will also be happily shipping our finds world wide.
I will keep you up to date with our progress and our opening date, I may even share a few progress shots. Hope to see you there!
