Breakfast Television - Decorating for Halloween

Any excuse to decorate my house, I am all for it! So when Halloween comes around, I am always looking for spooky and fun ways to decorate that still seem designer friendly. Especially as this is Harrison's first Halloween, I want it to be special!

Today on Breakfast Television I talked about some easy DIY things to spook up your house!

Snake Wreath

This is cheap and easy to make!

Here's what you'll need:
  • Grapevine wreath (I got mine for about $5.00)
  • Rubber snakes from the dollar store
  • Black spray paint (matte finish, not glossy)
  • Glue gun

Instructions:
  • Use your glue gun (make sure it is super hot) to glue the rubber spiders to the wreath

  • Spray the wreath with your black spray paint.
  • Leave to dry

How creepy does this look?!

Dripping Blood Candles

This one is super easy!

Here's what you need:

  • Red and white long candles
  • Lighter

Instructions:

  • Light the red candle
  • As it is burning, allow the red wax to drip onto the white candle in a way that makes it look like it is dripping blood
  • That's it!

Painted Pumpkins

I love painting my pumpkins, it is such a nice alternative to pumpkin carving.

Here's what you'll need:
  • Pumpkins (as many as you like, whatever size you like)
  • Painter's tape
  • Paint Brush
  • Chalkboard paint
  • Chalkboard pen

Instructions:

  • Using the paint brush, paint the pumpkin in any design you like
  • If you want to leave some of the pumpkin showing (like in the picture above), use the painter's tape to block off the part you do not want painted
  • Use the chalkboard pen to write or draw whatever you'd like over the chalkboard paint, like "boo!"
There you have it! The DIY are easy, fun, and won't break the bank.

Happy Halloween!
